Poured hazy brown color with a large frothy brown head that was mostly lasting with excellent lacing. Moderate smoke malty aroma. Medium to full body with a smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy woody bourbon flavor with a medium to heavy bourbon bittersweet finish of moderate duration.
My expectations where exceeded. ericandersnavy (1128), crossroads, Texas, USA

Aroma- Rich bread-like aroma, crystal malts and some roasted malts are present. Caramel and chocolate notes exist as well.
Appearance- Deep Brown with red highlights. Great Clarity, low head.
Flavor- Rich malt taste hits first, full of chocolate and caramel. It tastes like a high alcohol beer, however the ethenol is moderate. There is some bitterness, but malt is the star of this show. Lots of oak-derived vanilla, very high sweetness. Good flavor.
Palate- Huge body- very sweet. Low carbonation, but silky smooth.
Overall impression- This beer showcases malt, a bit too sweet, great flavor though!

Aroma of smoke, toffee, caramel and vanilla. Taste is alcohol, spice, leather and a bit of bitterness. I couldn’t detect much character from the Stranahan Barrel. Light carbonation. Medium bodied, creamy texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, light acidity and bitterness. MmmcKay (286), Brentwood, Tennessee, USA
