Aroma is of coffee, roasted nuts and malt, butterscotch, and vanilla. An aroma that really reminds me of fall and early winter. Flavor is the same bit a bit thin and watery in the middle, but with a nice smooth flavorful finish. A bit of bittering hops in noticeable in there too. Medium body with medium carbonation. Overall: nothing outstanding, but a solid example of an underappreciated style. Pipper (264), Ohio, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Sep 2, 2009 This was probably the most tolerable of the other brown ales I’ve tried. The abv was pretty present from beginning to end but not overwhelming. Got those malts that gave a little sweetness but didn’t dominate the beer and some good bitter bite. A good beer to knock some burgers down. maniac (2628), Richmond, Virginia, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Jul 3, 2009 Pours hazy brown with a susdy beige head that fades quickly. Aroma is pretty nice; hazelnut, roast malt, and some hop spice. Decent taste of nut and roast. Lots of carbonation, definitely not the smoothest, and slightly sticky. decaturstevo (2010), decatur, Tennessee, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Jun 30, 2009 Deep amber pour with almost no head or lace. Very light malt aroma and an even lighter hint of hops. Decent maltiness with a hint of nuttiness. A fair mild bitter as well. A not so pleasant sour finish. Carbonation a little hot and palate thin. A barely average beer I would not drink again. CaptainCougar (5530), Rockville, Maryland, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jun 18, 2009 Bottle sampled on 1/10/09: Pours a transparent copper amber with a thin-lacing white head. Aroma of lightly sweet caramel malt with some earthy hoppy notes. Body starts lightly sweet and toasty caramely with a mild grainy character before a drier finish. A pretty standard brown ale that could use more nutty flavor.
