Commercial Description:
A big Hazelnut Brown Ale with a warm, nutty, toffee-like flavor. A wonderful winter warmer to enjoy with friends during the holiday seasons. A wildly big strong ale we call the Big Shot.

Thanks to unclemike for this beer. Reddish pour with big tan head. Nose of toasted malts, nuts and earth. Flavor is similar, but not as complex, which a bit disappointing. Decent palate, but not creamy or smooth at all. Not bad.

[Bottle, thanks argo0!] Pours dark amber with a small beige head. Aroma is really spicey with a decent malt backbone to accompany it. Taste is sweet initially, then some caramel, spices of course, and a little nuttiness. Thin, super spice filled finish. Really thought the spices were terribly overdone in this beer. Not a drain pour, but I would have a hard time drinking much of it.

pours a medium brown with a light tan head...poor retention. aroma is very malty with some chocolate, caramel, and sugary sweetness. flavor is roasty with caramel, chocolate, and a chalky wheaty quality. mouthfeel is a bit thin and the finish i s a bit roasty with some chocolate.

Crushed with CaryTheDude and Jakebra. Malty, brown ale nose. Kind of meh flavor. Typical brown ale. Re rate: got a bomber of this myself, didn’t realize I’d already had it. Brown pour. Kinda chocolatey brown malty flavor. mehhhh. Yeah, its a brown.

Love this brew Deep brown color with 1-finger khaki kead. Aroma is big scotchy malt, nuts, brown sugar, earthy peaty notes, and some X-mas spices. Tastes walnutty, with heavily earthy caramel malt, some nutmeg, piney hops, brown sugar, and molasses hints. Fairly dense palate.

(Rating #2191)

In short: A powdery brown ale with a milk chocolate character. Amateurish.
How: Bottle, tasting session with Montreal crew
The look: Almost clear amber body topped by a small beige head
In long: Nose of milk chocolate and caramel. Taste of milk chocolate, nuts and caramel. Somewhat floury/powdery with cacao notes. Rather sweet. Subtle (to say the least) hops presence. Not very tasty and what it tastes feels “off” or very boring. I once met a Big Shot that was as successful as this beer, the dude ran his own toaster repair shop and had a real Timex on his wrist.
