Sweet malty aroma with a hint of toffee, but not overly impressive. Flavor is toasted malt with some nuttiness but not vegetal. Smooth medium body with medium low carbonation. Rather enjoyable nut brown. Rciesla (3880), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA

Nutty and toffee character as well. Pours a syrupy, murky looking brown color. Caramel and toffee aroma. Decent drink. Possibly getting this one a little late in the game here though. tomciccateri (514), Albuquerque, New Mexico, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 26, 2008 From a 650ml brown bottle, poured a deep dark amber color with a slight head. Malty aroma, medium body, slightly thin mouthfeel, even dry/sweet malty flavor balance, slightly dry finish with moderate carbonation and late slight alcohol notes. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jul 10, 2008 Enjoyed this winter warmer on a hot July day. A nice looking clear amber colored brew with a one finger light orange hued head and plenty of carbonation. A malty nose is robust and offers roasted nuts and sweet caramel. Flavor reminds me of a porter and is heavy with roasted nut and dry dark chocolate. Some nice November types of spices and cooked brown sugar. A smidge of hop brings the smallest bit of bitter and tart effects. This is an sweet beer that is enjoyable and dangerously easy to drink. ILoveNewBeer (113), Iowa City, Iowa, USA

| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 18, 2008 Courtesy SoLan. Pours a maroon brown, with a small foamy light brown head. Smells of some definite caramel malt, a little nuttiness to it, along with a touch of some dark fruit. The flavor has got some noticeable roast to it, went along with the nuts and dark fruits that all blended together to formulate this beer’s identity. Pretty decent drinking brown ale, i think maybe a touch underrated. ElJefe (553), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | May 10, 2008 Medium brown with a light tan head. Aroma is sweet and nutty, with some raisins and toffee, and a touch of roastiness. Flavor sits firmly on the sweet side as well, nutty, slightly earthy, with toffee and caramel as well. Very slight spicy bitterness. Medium-full bodied.
