| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 14, 2009 Black with a thick tan head. Aroma of roasted chocolate malt. Not as chocolatey as others but still pretty good. Mouthfeel is pretty thin for a stout and there isn’t much of an aftertaste that I’ve come to look for. Not bad. Pastor (509), Maine, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 13, 2009 Thanks to brentk56 for sending this want along in his black booty package. 12 oz bottle poured into a snifter produced two fingers worth of coco head that trailed of to a nice lace. the body on the brew is of course black and bodacious.
Aromas of chocolate are dominate which I guess is good considering it a chocolate stout. The flavor of roasted malts are right up front, a nice almost nuttiness as well. The mouthfeel is a little thin for a stout.
Not the best chocolate stout but a good representation, very drinkable frankenkitty (1903), Oak Lawn, Illinois, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 12, 2009 Pours a deep brown, not quite "inky", beneath a thin, fast, mocha head. Chocolate and grain meld nicely in the aroma to emulate Cocoa Puffs with a syrupy topping. Light roastiness also evident. Intriguing mouthfeel starts rich, progresses with liveliness, then finishes with a tart astringence. Flavor is chocolate syrup and dark fruit with a hint of alcohol, finishing on that tart fruitiness detected in the aroma. Chocolate covered jellied pineapple? Hmmm. Regardless, this definitely kept well for two years, and it was either well made, or my tastebuds are biased since I haven’t had very many craft beers in a while. :P ~~~~~~~ Bottle thanks to Cornfield. Consumed March, 2009... in my cellar since May, 2007.

| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 10, 2009 I wish this beer was better. The beer does look nice. Slightly off-white head that doesn’t fade away fast. Opaque black in appearance. This beer has a decent roast aroma. Nice smokey malt aroma, with SOME sweet malt aroma. Also, there is a slight coffee aroma, but it leans more towards roast. Not a very pungent aroma. Nice roast taste. Not as thick as I would like it. I love stouts that have nice textures and this one is leaning towards the Guinness palate. This beer would a lot better if there was some substance to carry the flavors along. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Mar 7, 2009 Pours a dark brown with a decent tan head. Aroma is smoked malts, with sweet chocolate and coffee. Flavor is similar, although the coffee is much more noticeable. Bittersweet chocolate in the finish. A very nice stout. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 5, 2009 Crused with Jakebra. Poopy chocolate on the nose, but definitely gets better as it warms up. Flavor is about the same. Bitter and bitter-sweet chocolate, but just shit malts and way too much hops. Take a lesson from Rogue to make a good chocolate stout. fromred2green (168), , Ohio, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 4, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a small, light brown head. Aroma is chocolate with a little coffee mixed in. Falvor is dark chocolate with a little malt. Very good. bleeng (600), Spring near Beersel, Texas, USA
| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Mar 2, 2009 12 oz bottle. Black with no head. Nose is chocolate and coffee but very subdued. Taste is minimally chocolate, roasty. Body is bit light for a stout and the flavor fades on the end. Overall decent but not memorable.
