| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Dec 8, 2008 Bottle. Pours a dark brown with a minimal tan head. Heavy aromas of dark chocolate and charcoal get my hopes pretty high. Flavor is really interesting. It has a great cast, in order of dominance, smokey charcoal, dark chocolate, vanilla and coffee. That said, they do not come across as particularly full. It is like they are all holding back a little or something. It is not like it is watery, just like the flavors are a little washed out. Good, and if the thinness issue was not there this would be great. Still, for a stout with a 5.3% abv, this is really good. MiP (9162), Sønderborg, Denmark
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 18/20 | Dec 8, 2008 Bottle. Black colour. The flavour is sweet and nice, roasted and creamy. Hint of creamy coffee and vanilla. Not much chocolate IMO. But nice. Papsoe (15109), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Nov 29, 2008 Bought it at an Acme while visiting family in Akron, OH. Quite watery for a stout and has a thin head. Chocolate hint, but more of a roasted malt taste. Medium palate. I’ll finish the six-pack, but won’t likely buy it again. obxdude10 (1565), Pottstown, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 27, 2008 I finally got to rating #1400! A milestone I’ve been looking forward to for more than a year. It took me that long because my "new" beer drinking has taken a back seat to just about everything else going on. But I finally made it! This chocolate stout is drinkable and smooth and tastes pretty decent, but isn’t exciting or outstanding in any way. I like the dark color and the big tan head. The flavors were pretty average, but with a very light and watery body. If this beer featured a heavier and more flavorful body, it would be amoung the better stouts out on the market. But it certainly falls short. There is definitely quite a bit of chocolate, coffee and vanilla notes in this beer, but the light body and finish is too great to ignore. This was definitely a bit of a disappointment. If there was just a little more body to it, this would be a great stout. yespr (12429), Copenhagen O, Denmark
