Aroma is a strong sweet chocolate with a solid amount of coffee as well and some roasted notes. Flavor is a smooth sweet chocolate that fades into a slightly hoppy coffee tasting finish. Some toasted bread flavors as well. Good body with little carbonation. MesandSim (5939), London, Greater London, England
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 6, 2008 A Mes rate: bottle from Spuyten Duyvil. Black with a thin tan head. Storming aroma with some full on vanilla and chocolate malt. Some oats, slight herbs and some really good fruity notes. Flavour is pretty much more of the same plus some chalky dark bitterness. Actually it’s not a patch on the quality of the aroma. Roasted coffee finish. Decent stuff but not amazing. Svesse (2682), Hässelby, Sweden

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 4, 2008 Light cola color with plenty of ruby highlights shining through; not opaque to say the least. Thin collar of tan. Roasty coffee aroma with a smidge of cocoa hints. Smooth gliding cocoa flavor with just a hair of roastiness and astringency. Mild hop character with some earthiness. All in all, a solid "meh". malrubius (1002), Valley Stream, New York, USA
