Commercial Description:
Chocolate malt and roasted barley provide the dark color and fully body of chocolate stout. Toasy accents and a hoppy dryness add to this smooth brew. An old time favorite you'll remember.

On tap at the Flying Saucer, Nashville. Poured black with a tan head. Not much nose. Roasty flavor that never quite opened up. Chocolate notes in the finish and a soft mouthfeel. Drinkable, but not notable.

I enjoyed this one. Smells of mocha coffee. Flavor is rich with coffee and chocolate with some hop tones. Rich mouthfeel with a good finish.

BOTTLE: Dark pour with nice beige head and medium lacing. Strong smoky aroma combined with chocolate and coffee flavors. Flavor continues with the smokiness, some coffee (Kona perhaps? just kidding). Nice mouth feel but very short finish with little complexity. Eh.

12 oz. bottle from General66, thanks! Dark brown pour with a small head. Light coffee and roasted barley aroma, but not too much happening there. Like the description says, some toasted malt and just a hint of hop dryness in the finish keep this interesting. Slightly thin mouthfeel for a stout though. Still, decent and easy to drink.

From Bottle. Bought @ The Foodery in Philadelphia. Pours dark brown with a thick tan head, that laced the glass. Aroma of roasted malt with some hints of chocolate. Flavor of roasted malts, coffee, toffee, peat, and slight hint of chocolate. Medium Bodied, balanced. Dry in the finish.

Smells faintly of hops and dark roasted chocolate malts. Taste is very rich coffee flavor with some chocolate bitterness. A very nice stout

tap at the brewpub - Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. It has the expected roast malt aroma with a hint of chocolate. There’s a good stout flavor though the chocolate that the name indicates is very mild. It’s medium bodied, well balanced, and finishes somewhat dry.

Bottle. Brown body, tan head, slightly malty nose. Medium body, definite chocolate notes with some malt character.
