| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 1, 2008 Pours a beautiful opaque brown with a mocha head that is short-lived. Minimal lacing. Aroma is redolent of chocolate and roasted malt, with a hint of molasses and a touch of hops. Taste is a nice balance of everything that was promised in the aroma, with the hops asserting themselves slightly. Mouthfeel was pedestrian - I would have liked a little more body. However, it was very smooth. Long-lasting, pleasantly bitter aftertaste. alobar (1042), Harleysville, Pennsylvania, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 23, 2008 May 2007 - Beer pours dark, dark brown with a nice head which dissipated very quickly. Strong aroma of burnt milk. The flavor was rich milky chocolate and a lot of roasted malt. Lots of lactic flavor, too, which I’m not overly fond of. Slightly finish bitter. Really, really milky as it warmed...and the aroma got worse and worse. Not horrible drinking, but nothing to go looking for either. Aurelius (2654), Tallahassee, Florida, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 15, 2008 Sweet aroma, dominated by molasses, but there are some cigaretty-cereal aftertones. Fair label. Very black. No head. Molasses and bitter chocolate. Medium astringency. Coffee, coffee finish. Dry creosote in that finish as well. Medium body. puggy211 (596), cordova, Tennessee, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Feb 11, 2008 12oz bottle. Dry, dusty roast and chocolate flavored coffee in the nose, with corn and caramel sweetness that’s a little overdone and a little aritificial, but overall it smells pretty nice. Light to moderate thickness for the gravity, with a pasty, moderately dry texture. Tastes of dry, starchy chocolate candies and potatoes, with some toasted bread and a moderate presence of roasted malt. There’s really not a lot wrong with it, it just comes across as a little weak and thin, and I think I’d go for a few others before I picked this one, but it’s a decent drink and there’s nothing to get overly-critical about.
