Commercial Description:
Chocolate malt and roasted barley provide the dark color and fully body of chocolate stout. Toasy accents and a hoppy dryness add to this smooth brew. An old time favorite you'll remember.

Typical dry stout smell of well toasted grains with just a hint of hops. About as dark as they come - completely opaque. Very roasted semi-dry start with a somewhat subdued roasted flavor of mostly grains. Definite lingering aftertaste with a bit of complexity as the hops finish it all off. But not an unpleasant or overly bitter aftertaste. Good but not great. Bit fizzy and not as thick as it should be. Very mediocre mouthfeel.

Pours very dark brown with a burnt orange head. The aroma has creamy roasted malt, sharp fruits and a chocolate note between milk and dark. Medium body that’s a bit thin with minor semi-sharp carbonation. The flavor starts with roasted malt, semi-sharp fruit and some astringency - there is no apparent chocolate flavor at all. The finish is sharp with only a faint hint of chocolate (or maybe it was my subconscious thinking it because its in the name). A fair stout.

Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a small dark brown head that faded quickly. The aroma was somewhat faint but sweet and roasty with a hint of chocolate. The flavor was bitter, roasty and dry. The mouthfeel was rather thin.

for some reason this struck me as very smokey initially in both aroma and flavor which faded substantially with time. A dark brew with a slight tan head. flavor is thin, but roasty with a very mild chocolate component. finish is slightly bitter and roasted. an average chocolate stout.

Bottle: Pours black with a small cream head. Aroma of chocolate(duh), dark berries and licorice. Medium bodied. Dark malted chocolate flavor with some nutty notes. Decent, not great.
