Mouthfeel of dark chocolate with a hint of bitterness at the end. A little too hollow for my liking. Strykzone (1494), Wood River, Illinois, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 10, 2007 Almost black pour with a small dark tan head. Aroma is subtle and is roasted malt with a bit of hop. Flavor is not particularly robust. It features dark chocolate and coffee. There is a bit of a zing on the tip of the tongue but this is a subdued stout. It is also thin bodied. Overall I found it clean and easy to drink although was a "stout lite" kind of beer. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Oct 8, 2007 On draught at Vintage Estates in Boardman. The beer is a dark brown color with a medium thick and rocky beige head that has decent retention. Rings of lacing on the glass. The aroma is roasted malt with touches of chocolate and sweet fruit. Medium, glassy smooth body that feels thin at times with roasted malt and chocolate flavors over top light coffee and hops. The finish is creamy and roasty and leaves a sweet chocolate aftertaste. Although there isn’t really anything wrong with this beer, there are far better Chocolate Stouts out there. BlackForestCO (828), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Oct 7, 2007 Poured from a bottle. Poured a dark brown color with ruby highlights and a moderate tan head. Aroma of chocolate and roasted malts. Initial flavor of roasted malts with some coffee undertones that leads into a dry, bittersweet finish. It was ok, but I was hoping for more. It was a bit thin for a stout. Nejhleader (930), Lemoyne, Pennsylvania, USA

| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Sep 28, 2007 Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is very hard to detect. Some roasted malts finally come off but nothing like it should be. flavor is an improvment but still nothing great. Some cocoa and roasted malts. Finish is pretty watery for a stout. MEH. | 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 24, 2007 Had this beer on 4/30/2005. Aroma is a mellow roasted malt scent. Color is a solid black with fair carbonation and a thin tight head. Taste is smooth and toasted. Starting with a full body and a smooth feel, then goes down with a gentle fizzy feel. Finish comes on roasted with a faint bitter burnt taste and a mellow matinees. Overall its a nice smooth and roasted Stout. MilkmanDan (1940), Eagan, Minnesota, USA
