Commercial Description:
Chocolate malt and roasted barley provide the dark color and fully body of chocolate stout. Toasy accents and a hoppy dryness add to this smooth brew. An old time favorite you'll remember.

Draft at OTH. Not very impressed. Pours dark and impressive appearance, but the aroma and flavor are not what it looks like. Not very chocolaty and has the body of a porter. If they had just named it a porter then it would probably get higher ratings.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Greens Discount Beverage - Atlanta (Buford Hwy), 5/15/09
Part of the totally and completely made up"The Geororodanda Beer Sampling Party"

Aroma: Toasty chocolate nose, some coffee too, perhaps a bit of vanilla
Appearance: Thick black color, about an inch of brown head
Flavor: This is a bit light flavored by the sweet malty
Palate: Nice mouthfeel, a bit light and thin
Overall Impression: A decent chocolate stout, pretty much the tastes like what you’d expect from this beer style, but thinner then usual stouts.

12 oz bottle from Soonah, who whips the llama’s ass. Near black with a thin brown head. Big, dry bittersweet baking chocolate nose, very roasty. Decent chocolate flavors, dry, black coffee, roasted and a tinge of something fruity. Finishes pretty dry. Body seems light. Decent.

HAD ON TAP AT OLDSMAR TAP HOUSE. POURS NICE AND DARK HAS A SLIGHTLY MILD, A LIITLE BIT BLAND AFTERTASTE. BUT GOES DOWN RELATIVELY SMOOTH. A SLIGHTLY AVERAGE CHOCOLATE STOUT.

On tap at Oldsmar Tap House (Tampa, FL). Pours a murky dark brown to black color with a thin tan head. Aroma is roasted and malty with notes of coffee, chocolate, figs, raisins, ripe dark fruit, some hints of caramel and toffee. Flavor is roasted and malty with notes of coffee, toffee, figs, raisins, cocoa. Generally medium body with a malty finish. A bit thin for the style.

Pours a dark mahogany brown color with a minimal head of beige foam. Scant, spotty lacing marks the glass. The nose shows a good amount of roasted barley, with some lactic chocolateand hints of fresh, earthy hops. Flavors follow suit, fairly well put together and drinkable, focusing on roasted chocolate and barley malts. Green, grassy hops and bitter earthen notes balance things out nicely. Medium-light bodied and balanced, the palate is neither impressive or offensive. Decent, drinkable stout.
