BOTTLE: Dark pour with nice beige head and medium lacing. Strong smoky aroma combined with chocolate and coffee flavors. Flavor continues with the smokiness, some coffee (Kona perhaps? just kidding). Nice mouth feel but very short finish with little complexity. Eh.

Sep 5, 2008 Dryer than the name lets on, and more coffee-based too. If in Colorado, I pref Avery’s dry stout; if stuck in one of the western corners, this does just fine.

Sep 4, 2008 Pours a deep black with a small tannish head. Aroma is medium sweet with nuts toffee and bitter chocolate. The flavor is sweet throughout with just a hint of bitter at the end. Medium bodied, slick texture. Finishes medium and bitter.

Aug 19, 2008 Not a big fan of this Stout. Not sure if it was the Chocolate (not a big fan) or just not a good brew. Just didn’t have a good flavor that stood out for me.

Aug 18, 2008 Pours deep brown into a shaker. Mocha head with good retention leaves no lacing as it recedes. Chocolate and roasted coffee aromas. Thin and chocolaty with a lasting, smoky, slightly metallic hop finish.
