AmEricanbrew (816), Left Coast, Louisiana, USA Jan 9, 2008 12 oz. bottle purchased at the brewery. pours a straw colored fluid with a decent head. Has an awesome honey sweet smell which I haven’t witnessed in a lagar in some twenty plus years( Rhomberg All Malt ). Has a full bodied, sticky sweet honey malt flavor . Finishes with a light fresh floral hop bite. Super fresh and highly drinkable. Man, I wish I had more of this brew. I know they serve this in Valhalla. hopdog (4380), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Dec 13, 2006 12oz bottle poured a light to medium golden color with an averaged sized white head. I’m really searching for some araoms here, some grain, toasted malts and honey. Tastes of honey, grain and fruity. Thinner and weak body. TAR (1995), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA Sep 16, 2006 Dull gold. Creamy white pillow of foam. Wort, hay, and apple jam scents fill the nose. Muted blend of spicy and floral hops. Loose, fuzzy, and acidic carbonation films the palate. Light acidity braces the cheeks before a mushy honeyed hay sweetness ensues. Much-needed crunchy husks lend firmness and are accentuated by the doughy, haylike malt elements. Body’s limpness remains, however, namely due to the apple fruitiness. Deep and vivid malts provide lots of dusty and bready textures, but even the caramelized Munich sweetness fails to squelch the fruitiness. Finishes sweet, wet, and persistently mushy with overripe apples and unspent grains. Started out fairly nice, but grows less pleasant as the flavors evolve. Has a lovely deep malt character, but the aroma is very worty and there’s too much fruitiness in the flavor. This also has one of the more peculiar mouthfeels I’ve ever encountered, as the carbonation simply falls apart on the palate. Lots of potential here, though. verge (32), USA Aug 8, 2006 I dont beleive I really cared much for this beer. Not very interesting is flavor. The only thing enjoyable was somewhere midway in the pallate. Other than that, not worth anything. Nephren_Ka (25), Ft. Collins, Colorado, USA Jul 28, 2006 *Head* - short, foamy. *Color* - hazy ruby gold, darker than most lagers in its class. *Nose* - citrus, warm, sunny. *1st taste* - clean, brief. Not much flavor or interest. *Middle* - sting of lemons. *After* - slight bitterness, very little residue. *Overall* - I would describe this as significantly improved piss beer. It goes down smooth and simple, but without the horrible artifacts of Bud, etc. Very enjoyable on a hot summer day.
