Another brew for my latest "smoke kick". Nice brown color with a medium head. Smoky aroma with some meat, bread, and dark fruits. Sweeter than most rauches, but overall profile is nice. Taste has some smoke and bread in there. Pretty good, but I had this between Smokestack and Smoke jumper and it couldn’t quite hang.

Bottle. Clear deep mahogany with a small head. Aroma of heavily smoked malts, dark fruits and molasses. Campfire like taste with raisins standing out, followed by a sweet finish. Another fine autumn brew.

12oz. Bottle: Lightly sweet aroma. Smells of malts, smoke, BBQ, smoked cheese, ham, and a hint of dark fruits. Poured copper in color with a medium-sized than head that diminished but stuck around. Clear. Sparkling. Flavor is neither sweet nor bitter. Tastes smoky with notes of BBQ, bacon, ham, smoked cheese, and a little malt. Like drinking liquid smoked bacon. Medium body. Dryish texture. Average carbonation. Smokey, sweet finish.

Smokey malts, hints of munich malts, and hints of spicy hops in the aroma. Pours dark cloudy amber. Smooth smoky malts, hints of oak, caramel and light molasses, great smoked malt flavor! Good rauch!

Poured a reddish amber color with no head or lace. Aroma of smoked meats, toasty bread, caramel, and nuts. Taste of sweet caramel malt up front, with light raisins, tobacco, and a salty, smoky, woody finish. Medium alcohol presence.

Bottled. Poured a clear, deep, garnet-tinted amber with a short cap of off-white head sticking around. The aroma was strong, smoky, and syrupy.. deeply-toasted caramel in there along with some herbal notes. The flavor was just what it was shooting for.. a large, well-rounded bock with hefty smoke influence.. toasty caramel chocolate, and deeply-rooted smoked peat support the middle with sparkly aged herbal and dried leafy bitterness extending outward.. alcohol was apparent, but entirely complimentary.. quite well-executed! Very smooth on the palate despite the high ABV and intense flavors.. left a long, warm, satisfying finish with a splash of liquid smoke on the lips. Great beer!

12oz bottle. pours very dark red with small white head. nose is very smokey, smoked meats! really smokey for sure. hmm smokey. flavor has lots of smoked meats, the smoke is wonderful and still has some classic doppelbock notes come through with crisp sweet caramel, plums, and toasted biscuit. alc well hidden. body med. sure it’s more in the smoked side but does find the middle ground between the two style. brillant. a real surprise from this brewery. flavor is tad not smokey enough and cloyingly sweet. i do like this but i’m not sure i would drink more than 1 bottle, but big ups to fort collins for this one.
