Smells is nice, but not any smoke there really. The taste is quite lagerish, plenty of malts, but definite smoke flavor from the first note to the last. Very odd. I like it, my wife loves it. Hope to get it again.

Warning- Do not drink this beer cold. Drink this beer slightly warm or it will ruin to flavor and aftertaste. I paid 11 bucks for a six pack which I believe is a little over priced. However it was a very good beer with a good amount of flavor. It was fairly smooth on the palate. I would try it again

Enjoyed at Choice City Deli... Hazy brown pour with thin tan head that dwindles to very thin head. Obvious smoky nose and, of course, smoky flavor on a mildly sweet base that leaves the palate clean; this is easily the best smoke beer I’ve ever had (tho I am not usually a fan of this style). Delicious and so good I had a second (despite the good beer selection at Choice City); goes great with the philly cheese steak!

Came home with a package waiting for me from Beer&Blues2. Didnt even put it in a fridge and popped it open with dinner (turkey sausage & eggplant ziti, by the way). Pours with a small head that quickly fades. Body is dark brown, nicely clear but dark enough that you can’t see through it. Aroma is strong smoke, just how I like it. Nice sweetness to it, a strong sweet smoke beer, pretty much what I was hoping for. Taste is similarly heavy smoke and sweetness. Medium body with a short medium bitter kick at the end. Finishes clean with s sweet smokeyness. This beer was just what I was hoping for and I got it. Mouthfeel is slightly undercarbonated which fits perfectly with the what the beer is going for.

Reading about the smoked flavours in this beer mde me weary. I don’t typically like anythign smoked, but there was a bit of anticipation in me as I remembered how good the Bell’s Batch 5000 smoked was. When I poppoed the top, I was greated with no smoked aromas, mostly just malty notes sweetened by a bit of caramel and finished with a bit of toast. The flavour was sweet with some light smoke notes in the middle as well as some more sweetness and malty flavours.

’06 Bottle. Beer is clear, medium-to-dark amber brown with a small, frothy, white, diminishing head.<P> The aroma is malty with moderate-to-heavy toasted/smoked grain, moderate caramel; Hoppy with a light note of cedar, resin/pine; Yeasty with a moderate note of dough; Trace note of maple syrup, moderate note of smokey meat.<P>The flavor is big—heavily sweet, moderately bitter, lightly acidic, with a long, moderately sweet, lightly bitter, warm finish. Some bready retros.<P> The body is medium-to-full, the texture is velvety and the carbonation is lively. Good.

Very fizzy mahoganey body. Frothy tan head. Aroma is light smoke mixed with light malty fruit. Flavor is similar, but well put together. Slightly cloying perhaps, but the smokey edge takes it down. Light brown ale hops. Pretty good.

Pours a deep copper with a very small head. Aroma is smokey. Just like a campfire. Flavor is pretty much malts and smoke. It is actually really good. A touch of bitterness at the end.
