(Sample from June 7, 2008 Beer Club Meeting) Solid black with a dark amber tint. Beautiful brown head. Smell of coffee bean/cocoa. The flavor is light... easy to drink for such a dark and flavorful drink. Light body... love the sensations in the back of the throat. I’m highly impressed!

(n) Solid black color. nice lasting tan head. Nose of heavy roasted burnt bittersweet smells. Overroasted coffee and bakers chocolate. Good flavor, follows the nose- heavy doses of roasted dark malt flavors, bitter chocolate, and some espresso. Bit much alcohol heat for the 8%, but not distracting. Flavors meld well together. A bit overdone on the carbonation, gives it a bit too much of a "zesty" character. Overall pretty good though.

Sampled at OSLO’s and Guerde’s tasting courtesy of LawStudent09

Pour is dark brown with a thin tan head. Chocolate and roast are the primary aromas of this beer with a slight touch of smoke in the background . Simple flavor but enjoyable brew.

Shared by LawStudent09 and sampled at OSLO/Guerde’s Memorial Day Weekend tasting. From a 22-oz bomber pours an opaque dark brown brew with a thin tan head that slowly disappears to a fine film and off-white ring. Aroma of toasted dark malts, chocolate and chocolate malt, roasted coffee bean and a touch of smoked wood. Taste is medium to full bodied, very light carbonation with flavors of toasted dark chocolate malt, some floral hops, a touch of coffee bean and some roasted nuts. Finish is semi-sweet, with a toasted dark malt and dark chocolate aftertaste that quickly disappears.

My bottle (22oz) shared with HogTownHarry, tupalev & garthicus -- courtesy of Kevin. Pours black with a small bubbly off-white head. Aroma of roasted malt and chocolate. Flavour of roasted malt, chocolate and light coffee -- it’s quite roasty! Average bitter finish. Average bodied. Pretty good.

Bottle shared with Hogtown Harry, Blankboy, and Garthicus, courtesy of Blankboy. Black, dark creamy tan head. Lovely aroma - dry roast, dry chocolate - excellent. Nice strong taste - strong roast, more dry chocolate, some hops in finish. A great strong chocolate stout, I’d like more of this one!

Thick black color with a thick, soapy head. Smells of roasted chocolate. The flavor’s more dark chocolate and some coffee. Not a complex or particularly strong flavor, just nice balance and well made. Finishes a bit sticky...good stuff.
