| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 25, 2009 Bottle from jessup plaza. Poured a dark color with a small brown head. Aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, and some coffee. Taste is drinkable and somewhat light with roasty notes and chocolate through out. Not bad. redlight (1475), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Nov 23, 2009 Draft at redlight redlight. Pours black with a thick tan head. Roasted malts dark chocolate with some coffee on the nose. Very rich roasted malts bitter chocolate with notes of roasted coffee. I don’t get a lot of chocolate more intensely roasty flavors. Could be a little thicker, more body.

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Draft at redlight redlight. Pours very dark, even opaque, a little creamy but not particularly thick. Good nose with a lot of roasted malts, bitter cocoa and hints of coffee. A little sweet but not as much as many other chocolate stouts. Still it loses a couple points on the flavor. Only the chocolate stands out, while the other flavors recede too far into the background. Could use a little more complexity and a richer, creamier mouthfeel but still deserves a try for what its worth. lithy (1700), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 17, 2009 Dark dark brown, basically black, smooth creamy tan head. Chocolate aroma, big roastiness. Taste is again roast, almost grainy astringency, then a cheap chocolate, cocoa finish, lingering bitterness. RHeastings (405), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Nov 15, 2009 Thoroughly enjoyed on tap in a nonic glass. The beer pours a brownish-black color with a lively tan head that lasts several minutes. The nose is a melange of dark chocolate, a subtle touch of Munich or med-high crystal malt, and earthy hops. The palate is surprisingly light and full of finesse, given the abv. Light-but-present bitterness greats the mouth up front, followed by a smooth character that shows milk and dark chocolate, malt notes, and a medium-dry finish. The beer seems to out-Guiness Guiness with regard to creating an "extra" or "foreign export" stout." Extremely well-designed and brewed. hophead21112 (118), Louisville (LEWISville), Colorado, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 12, 2009 Black pour with a light tan head of nice size and retention that leaves soapy, scattered lacing. Aroma consists of semi-sweet chocolate, coffee and roasted malt. Flavors are dark chocolate and coffee. Nice bitter finish but the flavors kinda drop off at the mid-palate... lacking just a bit in the complexity department. Medium-full body with moderate carbonation and alcohol warmth. A good sweet stout. potbeercollege (362), Boulder, Colorado, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Nov 11, 2009 Draught tasting at ACBF. Black with lighter tan head. Aroma is chocolate, burnt coffee, and syrup. A lot thicker brew then the Single Chocolate. Flavor of chocolate milk, and dark burnt coffee, bread rolls, and milder masked fruit notes sit behind the more traditional stout flavors. Medium Length Finish that is warm. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Nov 10, 2009 Bomber. A dark, slightly translucent cola-mahogany pour is crowned by a tall head of dark khaki froth. Collapsing quickly, the, foam settles in to a patchy, bubbly blanket, leaving some nice, broken sheets of lacing all over the glass. The aroma shows sweet cocoa and dark caramel malt, with hints of lactic mocha, and some moderate coffee roast for balance. Flavors definitely tend to lean more towards the sweet side, with the saccharine chocolate, caramel, and burnt toffee piling on with the creamy lactose to outweigh the rustic coffee notes. The palate is medium-full and airy, very creamy and smooth, but perhaps a little too sweet and sticky on the finish. Strangely, the coffee really intensifies at the end in a fleeting moment of bitterness. It’s a very solid sweet stout.
