Nice Brew. dctriman (4), USA does not count | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Jan 28, 2007 I really liked this beer. Nice caramel flavor, nice malty finish. I liked the brewery’s tasting room too. Quaint, but very comfortable. DJC (238), USA

Some of the remaining head does glide down the side of the glass after each drink, though, and that boosted the appearance score. Semi-sweet, toasted malt aroma and flavor. Very mild caramel finish. A pleasure to drink. SledgeJr (2966), Omaha, Nebraska, USA

Clear amber in color with an ivory head. Aroma of cooked vegetables and malt. The flavor is the same boiled vegetables but also has caramel and toasted malts. The tingly palate finish is not smooth. theshocker (329), Marietta, Georgia, USA

Aromas of toasted malts, toffee, and cookie dough. Tastes of caramel and citrus. TAR (2095), Boulder Co., Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 24, 2006 Bright bronze. Broken, but densely packed, off-white foam. Expressive malt nose of cocoa, caramel, and roasted dough. Very soft with a smidge of diacetyl and honeyed dates. Fluffy carbonation, but also fairly chalky. Initially sharply roasty and grainy with a fluffy biscuit quality interwoven with delicate tobacco. Quite husky, but the well-attenuated body negates much of it. Hops produce a gentle bitterness which complements the deep notes of toasted dough, but sorely lack vibrancy and definition. Finishes dryly malty and firm with fresh notes of biscuits and cocoa. Unfortunately the overuse of hops in the aroma outshine the alluringly aromatic malt elements. In terms of flavor, the muddled hop flavors and carbonic acidity are too much of a detraction. buckybeer (666), Eau Claire, Wisconsin, USA

I always get annoyed when raters throw out 20 different aromas they smell in each beer. Yea right! When I saw cooked vegetable aroma for this one I started to get annoyed again. Well, I poured this beer and took a smell.... Time to eat crow now. Yep. They were correct. I smelled vegetable. This is not a bad thing. Also sort of malty. Overall it is not a very bad beer.
