harlequinn (2746), Tacoma, Washington, USA Jul 4, 2006 This was a textbook example of how all American brewers should use when brewing a German style beer. Fort Collins nailed it with this one. Hazy golden pour, with a big cloudy white head. Like frozen banana puree, immediately followed by spicy clove, with some cremy toasted maltiness, zesty corriander, and a hint of bubblegum. Delicious! schwaiger (90), Laramie, Wyoming, USA Jun 5, 2006 On tap at the brewery. Poured a slightly cloudy gold with a one finger head of rich, white whipped cream. Aroma is noteably different from what I was expecting, the banana being specifically ripe, something I really like in this one. Some clove. Creamy, tasty, slightly sour aftertaste. Better than I expected. Murphy (1759), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA May 19, 2006 Growler. Pours with a thin but lasting head, body is just the faintest of milky yellow. Moderate carbonation. Aroma is cloves, bananas, creaminess, balanced sweetness. Initial taste is all banannas, mild sweetness. Finish has a mild, noble hop bitterness. Slightly earthy. Body is sadly way to watery, even for a light beer. I’m guessing this is a reincarnation of Major Tom’s without the added pomegranite.
