Wheaty bready aromas. Slightly musty. Crisp smooth and easy drinking. Mild dark fruit flavors. Cranberry citrus mix. I guess that’s what pomegranates taste like to me. Sticky and mildly dry. Mild cereal flavor. Overall mild impression. redlight (1487), Winter Park, Florida, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | Oct 17, 2007 draft @ brewery. Wheaty, fruity aromas, some berry. Pours yellow blonde. Wheaty flavor, not much pomegranate noticable, not bad but nothing special. merlin48 (518), New Tazewell, Tennessee, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 12, 2007 Hazy straw yellow body with a small white head. Muted aroma of wheat and berries. Light bodied with even carbonation. Taste has bready wheat, tart pomegranate, and some vague citrusy hops. I’m still not convinced that pomegranates were intended to be in beer. iowaherkeye (1860), Los Angeles, California, USA
| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 10/20 | Oct 9, 2007 Bottle from Old Chicago, from some undated notes. Clear honey golden with a fading white head, decent lacing. Minimal aroma of tart fruit, some wheat and biscuity malts. Flavor is tart up front with some wheat. Too bitter for a wheat (there’s just straight bitterness with no aroma hops to back it up)--not too bitter for most other styles though. Highly carbonated with a watery body. I appreciate using unique fruits, but this isn’t that good. BlackForestCO (827), Fort Collins, Colorado, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Oct 7, 2007 Poured from a bottle. Pours a somewhat hazy yellow color with a small white head. Aroma of wheat and pomegranate. Crisp and slightly fruit wheat flavors, but nothing to get excited about. A decent wheat beer, but nothing to write home about. mtdshn (174), Moline, Illinois, USA
| 2.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 7, 2007 Bottle. Pours a somewhat rosey yellow with some head, nothing too noteworthy. Aromas of pomegranate and some striking sugary notes. Fairly bland, but not terrible. It’s a slightly fruity and tart wheat beer... but would have been better if it was unfiltered. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 30, 2007 Pours an attractive gold color and is slightly cloudy. Aroma is wheat and is inviting. I have no idea what pomegranate tastes like and am anxious to find what effect it has in a wheat beer. Wheat flavor is nice and its sweetness is balanced by a tartness that is offered by few wheats. A dry bitterness follows each sip. This is a unique beer and one that will likely be a success for this brewery.
