| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 30, 2009 Light yellowish/orange color. A little weak in the wheat and the fruit. Getting some pomegranate on the back end and very faint in the finish. Some toasty grain aromas and a bit of wheat like flavors. Nothing truly stands out here or is memorable enough to make me want to go back and get it again. curly (650), Nashville, Tennessee, USA

| 2.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | May 17, 2009 Bright yellow pour with a fizzy white head, aroma hints at wheat and straw, taste is moderately dry with no signs of ’pomegranate’, finishes lightly tart and very dry, nothing complex about this beer and it’s a bit watery. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | May 15, 2009 12 ounce bottle - $1.99 at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. "Contains Sulfites" listed on the label.
Appearance: Pours a crystal clear, delightfully bright golden body with a full inch of white foam.
Smell: Singularly simple wheat malt nose with a mild berry-like waft of pomegranate and a nose-tingled zesty, spicy hop scent.
Taste: Initial tastes of humble barley and malted wheat with a mild, restrained sweetness. The pomegranate flavor is exceptionally light, providing only meager hints of tart fruitiness. Spicy, soapy hop character with a cleansing pop of bitterness. Severely deficient in the ester department, I must say, but, with it’s squeaky clean filtration, I suppose none was really intended. Finishes dry, particularly crisp, and with a vague, light touch of lingering fruit character.
Mouthfeel: Medium-plus carbonation, it delivers a near-sparkling crispness practically from the first sip.
Drinkability: A light wheat ale with a light addition of fruit, charge it with an ample hop bitterness and nigh fizzy carbonation and you have yourself Major Tom’s Pomegranate Wheat. kiefdog (1633), Tampa, Florida, USA
