Candy apple aroma, caramel, very malty with hints of artificial/medicinal grape or cherry flavors. Nice smooth feel with malts that hint again at the medicinal cherry flavor. A finish of light hops and a slight steely metallic presence. lumpsowers (252), Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, USA

A little mettalic penny in the flavor, but I attribute this to the bottle being a little old perhaps? ucusty (1887), Wake Forest, North Carolina, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 18, 2008 Bottle from Liquor Depot. Probably the most interesting amber I have ever had as it smells and tastes like a barleywine. Same tart hops, same nasty fruit undertone. I pegged it at 6 or 6.5% so that is also surprising. Not for everyone, but a very interesting specemin.
