| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Sep 28, 2007 Pour is a dark red with a average tan head. Aroma is like chocolate covered berries. Sweet but lots of dark malts. Flavor is a very sweet caramel malt wth some hop and a touch of dark chocolate. An ok beer and prob one of the best from this brewer but that is not saying much. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Sep 24, 2007 Had this beer on 7/5/2005. Aroma is a full rich roasted malt scent. Color is a deep dark Amber with good carbonation and thin tight head. Taste is crisp, rich and malty. Starting with a full body it goes down with a roasted flavor coming on. Finish comes in with a full roasted maltiness that is backed by a light hop flavor and medium bitterness. Its a full, rich red. This is one of the best Amber ales I have had in a long time. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 19, 2007 A dark clean amber / copper with a medium off white head. Aroma is pretty big malt. Not getting much for hops at all. Flavor is sourish malt, light cocoa and roast and maybe a touch of citrus and hops. There is some nice lacing as this glass slowly empties. cheapdark (2017), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Sep 17, 2007 Pretty dark but not real dark, more like dark ruby red in color when under the sun. Some chocolate or malt hints. Mild yeasty aroma with good smooth carbonation. Very little bitterness and well controlled offense. Some hop bite. Yes, does come across with a choco malt at times. Finish is medium mild bitter hop medicine. vyvvy (2044), Hazelwood, Missouri, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 16, 2007 Pours light mahogany with a respectable orange-ish head. The aroma has musty sweet malt, cherry whips and some berry fruitiness. Medium smooth body with some sharp carbonation on the finish. The flavor starts with thick semi-sweet malt, some woodiness and a dark nutty flavor. The finish has dry spicy / woody hops. An alright beer overall - but a fine beer compared to other ambers. | 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Sep 12, 2007 This beer looked so promising. Pour was a perfect dark ruby. Not brown...actually red with a one finger off white head. Aroma was a little weak but could pick up caramel and malt. Taste was thin and lightly carbonated mix of caramel, malt and some bitter hoppiness in the aftertaste. Different amber, but not in a good way.
