williamherbert (461), Syracuse, New York, USA Nov 8, 2009 The look is a clear dark orange. One finger of puffy head. The liquid is still, save for a few stray bubbles.
A strong resiny hop aroma. A little sweet, with a woody finish in the nose. Flowery, though a tad musty. Strength of the aroma is quite impressive.
The taste is resiny, oily/woody hops grounded by some dry, gritty malt. Woody and bitter on the tongue. Flowery and estery. Pale crystal malts.
Dry and sandpapery on the palate. Thick, but in a good way. It’s a gritty IPA. Bitter but not harsh. On the hoppy side but balanced just enough. jake65 (1657), Williston, North Dakota, USA Nov 4, 2009 Bottle: Bright copper color with a finger of creamy beige head. Thick, sticky bits of lacing. Nose is rich with grapefruit, citrusy. Just a bit of malts. Taste is hop-forward, citrus and florals. Dry and floral, but enough malt to keep things modest in bitterness. Crisp finish touches on both citrus and florals. Good. BrianDorry55 (117), Spring Hill, Florida, USA Oct 28, 2009 12oz. bottle from Woodys in Franklin, TN. Pours a nice cloudy red-brown with a very small white head that leaves behind considerable lacing. Aroma is strong of caramel and nuts. Nice flavor strong of caramel and some nuts. Slightly bitter with a slight aftertaste. Medium mouthfeel, pretty smooth. Overall its pretty solid IPA...something I wouldnt mind having available on tap at the local bar. Lubiere (4463), Ottawa, Ontario, Canada Oct 19, 2009 A golden amber ale with a thin creamy lacing off white head. A light caramel malt with nutty floral hops. In mouth, a decent IPA with light biscuitty malt and light floral C-hops, pleasant and smooth. And this is more than a year old. Bottle from Half Time, from a mix 12 pack, July 2008, tasted Oct. 19 2009. shp555 (1677), Atlanta, Georgia, USA Oct 7, 2009 Pours an amber color with an off white head. Aroma is malty, caramel, crystal malt, slightly fruity, and some citrus hops. Flavor is malty, caramel, toast, and a bitter citrus finish. KAggie97 (2406), Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA Sep 29, 2009 Bottle. Pours an average amber with a nose of perfumy hops with a perfumy and roasted malt. Flavor is pleasant floral hops and slight grapefruit. Average mouthfeel that leaves a decent film on the tongue. Sessionable, but not fantastic. MaltOMeal (642), Land of Sugar, Texas, USA Sep 22, 2009 bottle thanks to KAggie, shared at August Tasting at my place. Pours a clear orange with a white head. Nose smelled of artificial orange flavoring. Taste is of malt and some citrus hops. Mouthfeel was thin and bitter. not impressed. caresville (106), Vernon, New Jersey, USA Sep 22, 2009 best of show in all the fort collins beers i have had. scent of a fresh IPA with that forest, pine tree aroma. pours an orange-ish white head that dissapears pretty fast but the taste makes up for that. refreshing, hoppy and leaves a bit of a bitter aftertaste but nothing overpowing and crazy. easy to drink and session. good stuff.
