Commercial Description:
We ventured into unfamiliar territory to create an IPA to fit our style. An intense floral nose, firm balanced flavor and long hoppy finish make Rocky Mountain IPA our very own.

This poured a clear amber color with a very nice head. The aroma was just a bit hoppy and smelled of sugars. It was OK on taste but a bit light and under developed.

This poured a dark amber with a minimal white head. Little lacing. The aroma was sweet and a little hoppy. The flavor is mostly of earthy hops and malt. Not overly hoppy. I’m not sure what I would categorize this as, but it just wasn’t quite like most IPAs. I didn’t care for it.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber, almost ruby hue with a thin white head. The aroma is a semi-sweet hop and caramel malt nose. The taste is full of mostly a earthy malt balanced with a light hop presence. Some toffee and pepper also. Pretty nice, a different take on a IPA for sure.

(Bottle, Akkurat, Stockholm, 30 July 2008) Amber colour with frothy, beige head. Fruity nose with citrus, caramel, orange peel and grapefruit. Malty, fruity taste with notes of toffee, caramel and chocolate leading to a citrussy finish with orange, grapefruit and resin. Quite complex and rather nice one.

I thought this could have been a lot better, but for a brewery that predominantly does wonders with lagers, venturing into ale territory could be a little difficult. Lots of citrus and pine in the nose, light resin on the palate, with a very subdued caramel maltiness. Not bad, but could just use a little bit of tweaking.

A little disappointed with this one. Looks good and has a good floral aroma. Taste is underwhelming, and doesn’t really finish with that hop bite I look for in an IPA. Just an average beer.

This looked as if it was going to be a fantastic IPA. Alas, looks can be deceiving. Pours out a darker cloudy gold color with a nice white head. aroma was hoppy with faint notes of grass and malt. Flavor was simlar.

Pours gold into a shaker. White head with excellent retention. Sweet pine aromas. Subdued balance of malt, pine and resin with a lasting hopped caramel finish.
