There is no presence. No malt flavor. Watery and bland. There is only the spice of hop. No date on bottle. But the experience of others (the ratings)make me believe its just not the same beer. I’ll try it again. GJF (510), Cedar Rapids, Iowa, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 7, 2008 Solid IPA. Lots of malt, grassy hop finish. There’s a bit of metallic aftertaste I don’t quite like. It’s a pretty straightforward IPA--nothing outrageous but good effort. jzzbassman (850), New Albany, Mississippi, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 7, 2008 Poured a deep reddish brown and a nice foamy head. Very floral and herbaceous in the aroma. I liked the unusual hop character in this one that gave some interesting impressions. A pleasant if soapy finish. pforei (338), USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jul 6, 2008 Bottle from Foodery. Dark amber with good head. Nice floral and hoppy aroma. Different flavors for this IPA. Taste is more floral/perfumey than fruity; and the minimal of grapefruit is refreshing. Mild malt. Not too sweet. Dry, floral, and bitter. jrob21 (1275), Atlanta, Georgia, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Jul 2, 2008 Another smuggled back from my last trip to Greensboro. Pours a deep red amber brown color. Nice malt profile with some decent body reminiscient more of a double IPA in that respect. The hop profile is more straight up IPA though. Caramel malt aroma and faint citrus. The flavor profile is muted until the end of the finish when you get some bitter hops and metallic flavors on the back end. thedm (3836), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 14/20 | Jun 27, 2008 This bottled brew poured a medium sized head of foamy fine to medium sized off-white colored mostly lasting bubbles that left behind a transparent typically carbonated body and a thick foamy lacing. The aroma was hoppy with doughy notes. The mouth feel was crisp and clean and tingly from start to finish. The flavor contained notes of medium strength caramel malts and hops. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 24, 2008 First in a six-beer sampler: an attractive orange-brown body hoists a thick white foam that leaves picture-perfect lacing in the snifter... floral, pine bouquet, bright, vivid and substantial... a bit of complexity on the tongue: hops surround and form a gentle pillow, but the weight is both palpable and palatable.... hops flutter as cirrus smears the glass; by mid-drink, alcohol is still imperceptible... malts are somewhat balanced and ends with a sense of fruity esthers...an above-average American IPA ad one I’d redrink but not to rerate (and to thinK: Fort Collins must be modest in saying they are "new" to the style!)...
