Commercial Description:
We ventured into unfamiliar territory to create an IPA to fit our style. An intense floral nose, firm balanced flavor and long hoppy finish make Rocky Mountain IPA our very own.

Bottle: Copper/amber pour with a light cream-colored head. Nose has lots of toasted and caramelized malts, with a very light piney note. Decent texture, not too carbonated. Flavor is also very toasty and caramelized. Pretty dense grainy malt flavor which is followed by a piney bitterness. Decent, but very one-dimensional.

Bottle. Pours a deep cloudy amber. Floral hoppy west coast aroma. Mmm Mmm good. The taste was bitter, hoppy, with a nice strong bite. My type of beer.

Bottle. Clear orange copper pour with a frothy off-white head. Floral and bright citrus hop aroma--almost a "Froot Loops" thing going on. However, the bright aromas were belied by the flavor--flat malts with woody, barky (stemmy?)hops. Chalky aftertaste. Not a great IPA.

Bottle from BeerandBlues2 (I think). Poured a full amber-red color, nice off-white peachy colored head, strong lacing. The aroma was floral and citrus hops, strong caramel malts. The flavor was strong caramel and lemony-fruity malts, lots of bitter floral hops, some citrus hopping action. Full mouthfeel, heavier side of an IPA. Not my favorite twist on the style, but competent. Thanks, Brad!

Dark, dank. Malty (more bread than sweet), but also a real citrus rind, tongue-slapping, lip-smacking harshness (that I like). Not the most subtle of beers, but has a firm bitterness. Aroma is harsh and unidimensional, but I still like that too. Thanks hophead75 for the extra.

I don’t really appreciate the marijuana reference on this one, but was hoping the beer was decent regardless. Poured a hazy dark amber with a small semi-creamy off-white head. Looks a little on the dark side for the style. Aroma is somewhat faint with notes of lemon, grassy hops, a bit of toffee. Flavor is sweet, which is not too surprising considering the color. Lots of toffeeish malt with some grass and grapefruit rind hops that attempt to offer a little bit more towards the IPA side. There were no massive flaws that I detected, aside from the fact that it was way too malt oriented. Less malt and more citrusy bitter goodness would have made this more drinkable and overall a greatly superior IPA.

Aroma is a bright fresh hop scent. Color is a deep amber that leans more to the brown. Carbonation is good with a thin somewhat loose head. Taste is very hoppy and citric. Starting with a medium body it goes down creamy with a bite. Finish comes on with a fresh hop, bold citric and pepper taste then a mild malt flavor and nice hop bitterness. In the after taste the citrus starts to fad with bitterness building and lingering on a while. Its a nice IPA, but needs more malt sweetness to balance out all the hops they have in there.

Smells of sour floral hops, strong citrus smell. Pours a nice clear copper with a smallish white head. Taste is crisp sour grapefruit hops. Very good IPA.
