Mouthfeel was thin and bitter. not impressed. caresville (106), Vernon, New Jersey, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 19, 2009 LOL @ Lumpy....Smells like a cheesy gerbil cage? I get what you are saying but how did you put these two together? Brilliant. Well, I didn’t really gather the gerbil notes, but the nose is rather piney and cloyingly sweet. Candied alps and fresh forest pines. Fare amount of hops. Taste is sweet and hopped, crisp and clean. Somewhat generic at first, the beverage opens up into a more moderate to full hop business. Achievement on the bitter without the grapefruit aftertaste. Rather crisp. Roasted malts and heavily floral in the taste. Well seasoned. Enjoyed it dearly. Lumpy (1802), Carrollton, Texas, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Sep 10, 2009 Bottle. Smells like a cheesy gerbil cage. Taste-caramel, hops (I guess), sticky, woody, high CO2. Not good. No sir didn’t like it. arrogantb (707), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 8, 2009 The beer is amber in color with a spotty white head that clings to the side of the glass. The aroma is piney, sweet. The flavor is piney, sticky, bitter, nicely hopped with a very strong flavor. This beer really coats your mouth and tongue. The more I drink this beer the more I find myself buying it again and again.Odell’s IPA is still my favorite but this one is a winner for sure.

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 7, 2009 Pours amber with a rocky white head and nice lacing. Aroma is piney and fruity, fairly typical for the style. Flavor is a nice balance of warm, slightly nutty hops and a bright fruity hop note with moderate bitterness. End is a bit thin, but there is some lingering hop bitterness on the back of the tongue. FROTHINGSLOSH (2025), GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Sep 1, 2009 Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a dark orange-caramel color with a large orange-white head. The aroma was a lovely mix of strong grapefruit, light pine, resin, orange and spruce. The flavor disappointed with a dry and sour nutty presence with moderate grapefruit and pine underneath. The body was surprisingly flat given the head. This one did not quite work for me. Ok. Dmalone102 (218), Denver, Colorado, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Aug 28, 2009 Aroma- bready and grapefruit like. Hop aroma is medium to moderate. Biscuit aroma is a bit aggressive.
Appearance- Orange in Color with a medium-strength tan head. Clarity is decent, but has a strong chill haze.
Taste- Well balanced, although there is more malt flavor than I would expect for an IPA. Nice resiny, citric hop flavor, juicy!
Palate- Moderately full body, high carbonation.
Overall- Nicely balanced IPA that would beat out many beers, unless paired up with some quality IPA’s then it would fall short.
