Commercial Description:
We ventured into unfamiliar territory to create an IPA to fit our style. An intense floral nose, firm balanced flavor and long hoppy finish make Rocky Mountain IPA our very own.

The color was medium orange. The head was thin, creamy, and light beige. The aroma was citrisy, sweet malt, and hops. The flavor was hoppy, citrisy, bitter/waxy at the back of the mouth. The palate was average and the finish was bitter.

Bottle, with thanks to the world’s best barista and beer connoisseur, The Pete! Pours a clear dark copper with a frothy dark tan head, good lacing. Aroma is earthy hops dominated by grass, pine/resin and floral. Flavor is a nice hops bite, only slightly tempered by the malts. Not quite a tongue scraper, but very hops forward all the way through. A bit unbalanced, but nice.

Bottle: Amber hued, fairly clear, large foamy off-white head, sticky lacing.   Subtle hops and sweet Pine on the nose.   This one is odd because the Pine aspect seems like its sweet.   Semi-sweet earthen bitterness on the tongue.   Overall its mild, with a decent soily malt background.   Slight astringency on the exit, perhaps a very slight metallic note.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Has a husky like finish, that grainy malt aspect that I normally associate with Ambers and the like, but not IPAs.   Earthy bitterness is the biggest player in this one.   Tiz okay, but would be better without the astringent aspect on the finish.

Pours amber with a good amount of head. A nice hoppy aroma and flavor. A good bit of bitter fruit in the taste to go along with the hops . Very easy to drink but a good amount of flavor. Plenty of chocolate, caramel, and earthy hops going on in a rerate. Still good, but this fresh batch wasn’t as good as the original.

Bottle 12 oz...copper tan head...smells like an ordinary IPA....more malts than hops in the aroma and flavor....the flavor is sweet malts and muddled citrus, , a bitter citrus finish...not balanced very evenly either and a tad diluted...just a blah blah IPA

Bottled. Mild stale hops, a bit grassy and metallic, and oddly enough some chocolate sweetness. Brothy, too. Dull amber-orange clear with mild haze, topped with a very thin head. Medium watery body, with medium-light carbonation. Starts with medium sweet maltiness, caramel and graininess. Light carbonic acidity and tangy gaseousness, even a tad salty. Dry papery hops lend a mild to medium bitterness in the finish, with a soy-brown sugar cling on the tongue. Dry bitter after, bit metallic.

Pours a clear copper with a dense, frothy beige head with patchy lacing. The nose is of earthy, citric, and piny hops with a light caramel backing. Medium-bodied and slick with a significantly bitter, tongue-squeezing finish. The flavor is of resinous earthy hops and lesser notes of citrus, pine and caramel malt. This beer will definitely satisfy if you’re looking for a hop-fix, but I found it fairly unbalanced. Without the malt backbone to counter the big hop bitterness, in this beer, it isn’t really my kind of IPA.
