At Brewery: Poured a yellow with a white head. The aroma was straw, malt, and yeast. The flavor was sweet malts, a touch of yeast, and some fruity spice. Overall, a lot going on in this beer. Refreshing during the the summer.

Bomber poured a clear amber with a small disapating ivory head. Aromas of carmel, biscuit, light earthiness, light citrus and aq hint of spice. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel, light citrus and a hint of spice with a crisp lightly bitter finish.

Pours a yellow gold with a frothy white head. The nose is sweet, grassy/hay, corn, malty, sourish malt, bready. The flavor is sweet, corny, some grassy bitterness, very mild on the hop feel, malty/bready, mild cardboard. The mouthfeel is full and leaves a residual sweetness.

Bright golden with a lofty, lasting head. Fresh smelling. Crisp up front, creamy and smooth in the finish, albeit on the light side. Easy to drink and refreshing. Malt flavors were simple yet wholesome. Had a sweetness to it that made me think of sweet Hawaiian bread, caramel, buttered toast and syrup. Hops were spicy, and they carried notes of wildflowers, hay and grass. Somewhat interesting.

20080718 Bomber in the woods at Bear Mtn. Light amber with sticky, lacing, medium small white head. Aroma is earthy, leafy hops and lightly toasty bready malts. Full mouthfeel. Almost like a marzen. Pretzel. Light DMS, some mint, a bit doughy sweet. Okay beer, but not summery.

TN tasting at maniac’s. Pours a light amber with fair white head. Aroma is unpleasant at first but not as bad as it warms. Sweet grainy flavor and aroma. Alcohol is evident as it warms as well. A little nutty and vegetal. I really didn’t like this at first, but it’s growing on me the more I drink. I still didn’t like this very much.

Why any brewer would decide to put a “summer brew” in a 22 oz bottle is beyond me. Thin sloppy head of varying sized bubbles. Light carbonation. Toasted almond aroma, with some tea leaves and a bit of roasted grains. Appearance is a hazy orangish brown. More toast and nutty flavor. Wow, lots of nutty flavors. Usually the nuttiness that people pick out of brews eludes me but not this time. Lots of peanuts and almonds. More tea leaves and a bit of harsh bitterness. This brew does not seem to be sitting very well with me. Kind of pasty and dry. No noticeable alcohol presence. Finishes pasty and malty with a bit of chalky dryness. Besides the nuts, I am not a big fan of this brew.

Bottle. Head is initially average sized, frothy, off-white, mostly diminishing. Body is light to medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers, herbs), with notes of candy/sugar/honey and vegetation. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Rather sugary sweet. Clumsy aroma. Ehh.
