adrian910ss (1395), philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 27, 2008 On draft at Capone’s. Pours a dark slightly hazy amber caramel with a medium white/beige head. Lots of lacing. Aroma of faint smoked meat, kielbasa and liquid smoke. Taste of light kielbasa and other smoked meat. Has a slight malty character to it. Ty5592 (1015), Lansdale, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 14, 2008 Draft. Clear amber color with off whitehead. Aroma of smoke and caramel malt. Flavor was the same with light cardboard and smokey finish. Sweet, smooth, and smokey. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA Mar 10, 2008 Draft at Capone’s. Pours hazy dark brown with a finger or so of off-white head. Aroma is pumpernickly malty, roasty, with brown sugar, figgy fruit. The flavor is rauchy, with a definite smoked malt flavor coupled with brown sugar, figgy fruit, and walnut. I admire the fact that Fort Collins goes against the grain with their styles, but this beer may cause some rancor with the technical purist style freaks. TomDecapolis (3127), Skippack, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 27, 2008 On tap at Capones. Pours a translucent amber with golden orange notes and a medium creamy off white head. Aroma of smoke, some fruity notes, nuts, banana and a touch of candy sweetness. Flavor of smoked meats...I dont know much about this beer but was not expecting all this smoke from a weizen bock. Also getting some banana, peppery notes, caramel, nuts and grains. I suppose this is a weizen bock with some smoked malt. jason (1620), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 22, 2008 Draft at Capones. Thanks to Matt for the sample! Medium hazy brown body. Aroma is light smoke, bananas and spices. Flavor is the same with some wood and the smoke being more present then I would like. egajdzis (3598), Spring Mount, Pennsylvania, USA Feb 20, 2008 Poured a lightly hazy, amber brown color with a medium sized, light tan head that left nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of caramel malts, nuts, roast, a bit of smoke, and some banana. Taste of citrus fruits, a bit more smoke, roasted malts, dark fruits, and vanilla. Alcohol seemed well covered... whatever it actually is.
