Commercial Description:
An immense, bold, black as night, american stout beauty; Cavatica is no dry Irish anything. Made in the tradition of terminator, except stronger, one sip and you will surely take notice of what you're drinking. The name honors this brewer's affinity with arachnia. Be forewarned, this beer will stain your clothes.

Had this on tap at Fort George. Colour... ebony with caramel coloured edges and no head. Nose... some roasty malt and hops with a touch of coffee. Palate... smooth, with a nice balance between the hops and malt, some coffee and chocolate and a nicely roasty finish.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a dark brown almost black color with a small off-white head. Has a roasted malty chocolate aroma with some hoppy hints. Roasted malty chocolate flavor with some hints of coffee. Has a dry roasted malty chocolate finish.

Taster - Fort George Brewery - Astoria, OR
Aroma – Good rich dark malts with a tad of hops making it through.
Appearance – Dark brown in color, Thin head and clear.
Flavor – Had a rich thick flavor this was a stout you serve with a fork.
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, Nice texture with a dry finish.
Overall – I liked this stout the flavors where so rich the malts where roasted very nice. A great beer.

Draft. At my visit I was told it was at 8.8% ABV. A pitch black beer with a thin brown head. The arom is sweet matly with notes of roasted malt. The flavor is very sweet with notes of chocolate and roasted malt as well as lighter notes of coffee, leading to a dry, sweet, and slightly roasted soy sauce finish.

Draft at the brewpub. Toasted malt aroma. Blackish color with a tannish head. The body is medium; the carbonation is mild. The flavor is toasted malt with a tart character. Some coffee. Finishes not quite dry. Seems a bit different from the common stout herd. There is a touch of chocolate. Alcolhol was not bothersome.

From a growler. Pours very dark black with a 1 finger brown head. Aroma of coffee and malt and some hops. Flavor has light maltyness with plenty of roastyness to go around. Some sweetness but not a ton and has some definite bitterness. After awhile bitterness starts to build up on the tongue, this is definitely well hopped. The bitter roast and hops begins to get cloying on the tongue and build up or this would get a much higher score from me.
