Commercial Description:
A smooth and creamy session-style american pale ale. With a straw-colored hue this beer's dry nature with affable bitterness and lovely hop aroma makes it an easy choice for drinking anytime of the day, even when the sun is rising. This beer is based on the first beer ever produced at the Fort George Brewery (Beer#1). We decided to add 50lbs. of oatmeal to make it even better.

Rich, chewy pale with a rather thick mouthfeel. taste was grassy, oaty, creamy. Dry at the finish. Oatmeal gave it a grainy cardboard aftertaste that I didn’t care for. Interesting though.

Had this on tap at Fort George. Colour... VERY pale and somewhat cloudy. Nose... lightly piney hops and some citrus. Palate... Hops up front and all the way back! Crisp, bitter with lemon rind and zest and a lingering bitter finish.

On tap at the Horse Brass. Vibrant orange pour with a thick white head. Pungent malt and oat smell that is decently inviting. Taste is very mild, a light caramel with a bit of oatmeal in the finish, which is very dry. The palate is chunky and totally out of place. Not a winner for me.

On tap at Fort George, a cool place in the hometown of the Goonies. This wasn’t the world’s greatest tasting beer, but cheers to them for making something a bit unique. Aroma of citrus, flowers, and oats/oatmeal. Flavor was pretty unique for a pale ale/specialty grain. A good blend of the two. Citrus, flowers, oranges and oats. Really tasty brew.

Draught @ the brewpub. Pours a pale yellow color with a small white head. Has a malty hoppy aroma with some citrus hints. Malty hoppy citrus flavor with some hints from the oat. Has a dry malty hoppy finish with some hints of citrus.

Draught. Poured deep straw. Floral aroma, like a Cape or mild IPA not a Pale. Some lacing. Full hop flavour, again not like a pale, then the oatmeal tang came through. Crisp finish like a pale. Something new from Fort George.

Taster - Fort George Brewery - Astoria, OR
Aroma – Very light pale malt with light oaty aroma.
Appearance – Golden in color, Thin head and clear.
Flavor – A very light ale with a summer feel. The malts where very light the oatmeal did not come through almost not there.
Palate – OK Mouthfeel, decent texture with a dry finish.
Overall – The beer was very nice and clean and crisp in flavor.

Draft. A muddy orangey beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with notes of grass and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet malty wtih strong notes of grapefruit as well as light acidic notes of lemon combined with light notes of malt and oatmeal in the finish. I was told by the brewer, that it is 5.5% ABV.
