BrewDad (1621), Olympia, Washington, USA Jul 23, 2008 Taster - Fort George Brewery - Astoria, OR
Aroma – Very light pale malt with light oaty aroma.
Appearance – Golden in color, Thin head and clear.
Flavor – A very light ale with a summer feel. The malts where very light the oatmeal did not come through almost not there.
Palate – OK Mouthfeel, decent texture with a dry finish.
Overall – The beer was very nice and clean and crisp in flavor. Ungstrup (11031), Frederiksberg, Denmark Jul 3, 2008 Draft. A muddy orangey beer with a thin white head. The aroma is sweet malty combined with notes of grass and grapefruit. The flavor is sweet malty wtih strong notes of grapefruit as well as light acidic notes of lemon combined with light notes of malt and oatmeal in the finish. I was told by the brewer, that it is 5.5% ABV. bhensonb (2832), Woodland, California, USA Dec 18, 2007 Draft at the brewpub. Light malt and hop aromas. Golden color with a substantial white head. A bit thin in body, but nice grapefruit bitter. The carbonation is fairly mild. There is malt, but the hop dominates. Nice bitter finish. Angeloregon (1829), Portland, Oregon, USA Nov 19, 2007 On tap at Astoria Rogue Ale House--Poured a golden copper body with a medium-sized white head. Nose of chewy oatmeal and fruity hops. Semi-sweet malt flavor with a sharp hops profile. Finished smooth but a little dull. Not too dull, just a little. Highly sessionable and quite unique. DA (2376), Portland, Oregon City, Oregon, USA Oct 29, 2007 I think this beer has turned, had an interesting sourness to it and was astringent. Im not sure what to make of that, since the bartender said it tasted fine the day before. Pours gold with a soft white head. Nose of light dry malts and a bit bready. I’m just not sure what was up with this.
