Commercial Description:
A rich, smooth medium-bodied amber ale. We balance the complex maltiness of six varieties of toasted & caramel malts with the subtle bitterness of Cluster & Willametete hops. A luxury you can't afford to miss. Thanks for your support.

Ah, the first one. Of the few Founders brews I've had, this is my favorite so far. Pretty sweet, there are hints of fruit, but most of the flavor is malt. The finish is a little stronger than the other Founders I've had. All and all, an enjoyable beer.

It seems like Founders is really trying to make decent beer. but fall short in so many ways Re-RATE (10/23/02) = Had some tonight, : Really watery + little carbonation. Re-Rate 12/25/02: This is even worse out of a keg.

Cloudy burnt caramel color with very little head. Very funky flavor. I didn’t care much for this brew.

Not a bad amber ale, but it certainly pales in comparison to Bell’s or even Mi. Brewing’s Sunset Amber. Aroma is pretty weak with some maltiness present and a tiny bit of Band-Aid type phenols. Taste is clean and refreshing, but in the end it’s just an average ale IMO.

Funky, roadkill flavors rolling arond behind the better malt stuff up front. I have very bitter feelings toward this brew though stemming from a bad experience at a ST. Pat’s party at the brewery, so take that with this rating.

Amber color (go figure). Light malty, faint fruity aroma. Bitter hop palate, smooth, some fruit. Very light tasting.

This beer was almost fine. It just left a bad flavor in my mouth. The original taste is run-of-the-mill. I garner new respect for excellent beers by seeing how far above the rest of the pack they are.

I was somewhat impressed...but nowhere near pressed like a pair of pants...Stick with Bell’s Amber, its much more satisfying
