This beer poured a dark, murky mahogany brown with a thin head that lingered for a bit, leaving behind some decent lacing. The aroma consisted of slightly vinous, boozy dark fruits, burnt caramel, brown sugar, and maybe a hint of maple syrup. The flavor was like a piece of hard caramel candy soaked in bourbon. The flavors work really well together. Rich, malty caramel and brown sugar with a mellow, boozy bourbon note. The mouthfeel was thick, full-bodied and had very mild carbonation. Just a bit sticky. A really tasty sipper! hophead75 (1964), Boonton, New Jersey, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Dec 9, 2008 12 oz bottle. Deep amber/brown in color with a small off white head. Aroma is big, of bourbon, dark malts, chocolate, vanilla, some oak and figs. Taste is very malty, but is smooth with dark specialty malt, chocolate, bourbon, raisins, vanilla and some oak. Nice full body, coating on the palate. Finishes with lingering vanilla, smooth bourbon, and malt. Excellent barrel aged beer. Slipstream (785), USA

Rich aroma of caramel, bourbon, and fruit. The taste is sweet and full. Vanilla beans, butter, bourbon, brown sugar, butter (diacetyl?), and tobacco flavors. This is the best beer that I had in the Thanksgiving 2009 season, so I would like to give thanks to Founder’s for another excellent brew. JFURYCAT (792), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 8, 2008 I love the aroma the best since the vanilla, oak, caramel and bourbon seems to come out more while the palate is rather wet despite having all the flavors I sense in the aroma. There is some smokiness that comes afterwards in the flavor. It grows on me as it warms. kmeves (1081), Mount Pleasant, Wisconsin, USA
