Commercial Description:
Big and delicious for your ’perty mouth. Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts. A bit of earthy spice and a scintilla of dark cherries. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

12 oz bottle. Deep amber/brown in color with a small off white head. Aroma is big, of bourbon, dark malts, chocolate, vanilla, some oak and figs. Taste is very malty, but is smooth with dark specialty malt, chocolate, bourbon, raisins, vanilla and some oak. Nice full body, coating on the palate. Finishes with lingering vanilla, smooth bourbon, and malt. Excellent barrel aged beer.

Reddish brown pour. Old geezer on label. Rich aroma of caramel, bourbon, and fruit. The taste is sweet and full. Vanilla beans, butter, bourbon, brown sugar, butter (diacetyl?), and tobacco flavors. This is the best beer that I had in the Thanksgiving 2009 season, so I would like to give thanks to Founder’s for another excellent brew.

I love the aroma the best since the vanilla, oak, caramel and bourbon seems to come out more while the palate is rather wet despite having all the flavors I sense in the aroma. There is some smokiness that comes afterwards in the flavor. It grows on me as it warms.

Pours a semi cloudy copper with a very small beige head. Aroma is medium sweet with grapefruit, bourbon, smoky and caramelization. Flavor is grapefruit, orange, caramel and smoky with some alcohol detected. Medium to full body, sticky texture. Finishes somewhat hot, low carbonation.

Bottle. Pours copper, light brown with tan head. Aroma is bourbon with hints of oak and vanilla. Flavor is dominated by bourbon with notes of vanilla, dark fruits, and slight alcohol sting in the finish. Bourbon flavor stays dominant throughout.

Pours dark mahogany into a Thistle. Light smoke and bourbon aromas. Upfront strong bourbon, turning full with fruit and smoked malts. Lasting smoked oak and bourbon finish. Why did not I buy the 4-pack?

Pours a nice copper color with a tan head. Plenty of bourbon on the aroma with a hint of oak, caramel malts, dark fruit, and some vanilla. Taste is also strong on the bourbon with more oak then it would seem from the nose. Some sugar, dark fruits, and caramel malts in the background with a decent warming on the finish. Decent blend of flavors on the finish with the bourbon being stronger at the beginning rather then the finish.
