Commercial Description:
Big and delicious for your ’perty mouth. Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts. A bit of earthy spice and a scintilla of dark cherries. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

Small tan head with fair retention and lace. Deep brown color, clear. Lotsa whisky in the nose along with vanilla and a light woodiness. Body is med/full, Slick and coating, light carbonation. Whisky flavors are prominent, vanilla, faint chocolate and maybe some roast buried under there, some fruit and vinous notes slunkin around in there also. Fairly dry boozy finish. Props to eaglefan for sharing. It werent that bad Brian! Sheesh!

Bottle from Styles, shared at State Line. The pour was dark mahoganey brown with a decent initial head that thinned to a full but thin covering. The aroma was all bourbon, vanilla, very faint oak. Did I mention the bourbon? Roasty and smoke notes fill in slightly on the flavor, but this was pretty hot and full of bourbon (even some maple) to the point that it wasn’t pleasant combined with an astringency that was unwelcomed. A fun experience indeed, but not a solid beer in my book. Thanks, Chris, for this one along with those other gems you sent!

Bottle, shared by papsoe. Pours a nice, clear reddish dark golden body with a small creamy beige head. Beefstock, malty sweetness, some alcohol and spirits in the aroma. Some bourbon, sugary maltyness and a pleasant fruity hoppyness and bitterness in the mouth. Warming, full-bodied and slightly sticky. Lasting finish with a pleasant warmth and sweetness. A quite challenging beer, maybe too focused on the bourbon, but it is really pleasant and gets better as you drink it. (080822)

12 fl oz bottle. Pours cloudy golden amber with a lacing tan head. Wineous and barley dense aroma. Flavour is sweet and dense malty. Smooth chocolate and vanilla flavours nicely balance the dense barley and alcohol notes. Lingering chocolate and vanilla finish.

12-oz. bottle provided graciously by Secret Santa July 2008. Pours hazy brown with an average, rocky, light brown head, somewhat lasting with good lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (nutty, cookie, caramel, toffee), light hops (herbs), average yeast (leather, dough) with notes of alcohol, wood, and apples. Full bodied, alcoholic texture, average carbonation, and a bitter finish. Long duration, moderate sweetness, acidity, and bitterness.
