Nov 23, 2009 Hoooolllyyy hell. I didn’t know anything about this before I picked it up and I as so floored by it when I finally tried it. Gorgeous dark amber pour with almost off-white head. The flavor and aroma are about the same -- you get some serious bourbon, which makes me curious as to how long they were aged in the bourbon barrels because it’s so very close to actual bourbon. You get the nice warming affects of the 10.2% (another thing I didn’t realize until I started drinking it). This is a beaut, another great find in Founder’s.

Nov 23, 2009 Like an incredibly smooth single-malt whiskey candy. Unbelievably yummy. The 10-plus ABV is barely hidden but that’s not a bad thing. Makes a fantastic sipper on a cold night.

Nov 22, 2009 12 oz bottle from the Four Firkins. Dark caramel color, very little head. Aroma is straight Kentucky bourbon... smells like I’m drinking a glass of Knob Creek. Flavor is more mellow than I expected, yet still pretty complex. I definitely can taste the sweet caramel and the cherries. The oaky bourbon flavor comes through also. Finish is smooth and sweet. I love this beer.

Nov 21, 2009 Thick, creamy, and strong, with bourbony heat on the finish. The 12 oz bottle pours a dark amber without much foam. Aromas of bourbon, vanilla, and oak. Heavy malt flavors, apples, dark fruits, cherries; but wrapped in thick Scotch whiskey on the tip and sides of the tongue. A really dry finish.

Nov 20, 2009 Bottle thanks to lufootball..Thanks John...Pours a murky dark brown with a off white head..Aroma is caramel, dark fruits, smoke and some wood..Starts off woody then finishes with a dark fruit sweetness.. Medium body and medium carbonation.. Tasty stuff!

Nov 17, 2009 Pours orange/brown with an orange head. Lots of sediment. Sweet barleywine like aroma, with plums, orange, chocolate, waterlogged wood, and caramel. The flavor is thick, sweaty, and very tasty with notes of chocolate, caramel, toffee, wood, vanilla, licorice, orange and spices. Very nice, but lacks the refinement of a truly great beer.
