Aroma is straight Kentucky bourbon... smells like I’m drinking a glass of Knob Creek. Flavor is more mellow than I expected, yet still pretty complex. I definitely can taste the sweet caramel and the cherries. The oaky bourbon flavor comes through also. Finish is smooth and sweet. I love this beer. TheBeerOrg (1583), Kentucky, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Pours deep maple syrup/mahogany w/ thin but creamy head that dissipates to thin winter night cirrus clouds, great bourbon-y vanilla malt notes in aroma, juicy, fruity flavor laced with smoke, cherry, oak & toffee, all coated with a great malty alcohol petina that results in a very drinkable and dangerously smooth potent ale ManvsCity (103), Redmond, Washington, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Nov 21, 2009 Thick, creamy, and strong, with bourbony heat on the finish. The 12 oz bottle pours a dark amber without much foam. Aromas of bourbon, vanilla, and oak. Heavy malt flavors, apples, dark fruits, cherries; but wrapped in thick Scotch whiskey on the tip and sides of the tongue. A really dry finish. DuffManSW (293), Riverside, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 17, 2009 Pours orange/brown with an orange head. Lots of sediment. Sweet barleywine like aroma, with plums, orange, chocolate, waterlogged wood, and caramel. The flavor is thick, sweaty, and very tasty with notes of chocolate, caramel, toffee, wood, vanilla, licorice, orange and spices. Very nice, but lacks the refinement of a truly great beer. badgerben (3605), Blaine, Minnesota, USA

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Nov 17, 2009 Nice! Pours a dark opaque brown with tan head. Aroma has notes of malted chocolate balls, and whoppers. Flavor is not overly sweet, and finishes clean. Lots of good chocolatey notes in this one, as well as some great tanins.
