Commercial Description:
Big and delicious for your ’perty mouth. Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts. A bit of earthy spice and a scintilla of dark cherries. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

bottle, pours dark brown, tall tan head. Dark fruity aroma of strawberry, oak, sour apple, and light hops. Wow, this is near perfect. Sweet bourbon and again strawberry, I don’t know why I’m tasting it, but I am. Apple skins, more oak and a strong whiskey undertone. So good, creamy mouth with light carbonation. This is what I want in a barrel aged beer. So damn tasty.

12oz bottle thanks to Iowaherkeye. Pours a mahogany with a small khaki head. Nose is woody and fruity with a nice bourbon undercurrent. Its not bourbon heavy but you still know its there. Flavor is just amazing. Rich deeply complex malt with a strong vinuous fruity profile. Some mollasses and brown sugar and definite bourbon finish. Slight twinge of alcohol but all things considered its well hidden. Really outstanding.

dark caramel brown color little head tons of floaty stuff. Bourbon woody aroma. Nice malty bourbon woody flavor with some alcohol which isn’t to bad. This was a 1 year old bottle mellowed a bit.

Bottle thanks to Devil’s Advocate from Fever. Thanks! Looks and tastes like bourbon. A lot. Really boozy taste and smell. It’s quite good though, reminds me of a nice bourbon. I like it.

Pours chestnut brown, moderate yellow-cream head, speckled with yeast and whatever else is floating about. Earthy nose faintly reminiscent of Highland single malts with heavy caramel, some light smoke, and strong wood. Flavor isn’t as sweet, more malt and wood, slightly alcoholic and medicinal. Rather short finish, moderate body, a little too watery. Pretty decent, but also somewhat forgettable.

Bottle [355ml] courtesy of tupalev. Pours a murky copper-brown with a fuckload of floaties (seriously, it’s like a crazy snowstorm in there!) and an average size somewhat-lasting creamy tan head. Slightly mild aroma of lightly smoky caramel malt, vanilla and oak. Delicious flavour of caramel malt, vanilla, oak, a hint of smoke and some alcohol. Some bitterness in the finish. Alcohol’s there but pretty well hidden for 10%. Medium bodied. A good example of a barrel-aged beer done right, it’s not overdone. I really enjoyed it.

Poured from the bottle to a hazy dark borwn-red with a strong aroma of bourbon, malty dark fruit and a hint of molasses, with the 10.2% alcohol entering the fray at mid-glass. Mouthfeel is full, slightly chewy and a tad tingly, as the taste perfectly accentuates the scents of the nose. Rounds to a nice long warming finish. Enjoyed with a nice cigar to round it all out.

This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a extremely small sized head of medium sized clear colored bubbles that were and left behind a very hazy very softly carbonated and a oily lacing. The mild aroma was bourbon. The mouth feel was tingly and hoppy at the start and at the finish with a vinous aftertaste. The nice flavor contained notes of hops and soft bourbon ale. Delicious and one I would certainly buy again.
