Commercial Description:
Big and delicious for your ’perty mouth. Expect lovely, warm smells of single malt scotch, oaky bourbon barrels, smoke, sweet caramel and roasted malts. A bit of earthy spice and a scintilla of dark cherries. It’s a kick-back sipper made to excite the palate.

bottle.... pours a deep deep red with slight highlights and an average off white head... big bourbon and vanilla notes on the nose as well as some apple, plum and raisin... absolutely wonderful aroma... I could smell this all night. big round body with nice creamy sides and an aggressive front... sweet caramel, scotch and more fruit dominate the front of the mouth... with a twist of alcohol... the top is more mellow with cherries and sweet malts. Excellent bourbon laced finish leaves you wanting more. Solid.

Yet again, another great beer by Founders. Pours very dark red. Didn’t pick up much of the bourbon. Has a ting to the nostrils of roasted grains as well as the alcohol but is not unpleasant at all. Near perfect finish and great mouthfeel. Can’t wait to try at from the tap at Founders.

I was worried this would not be my thing. Man was I wrong! Great taste and flavor. Booze is well hidden. Shame it is not available year round.

MMmmmm, baby, baby - can’t get enough of your beer babe. Luxuriant. Poured with fine creamy, light tan head and good lace. Color is cured cherry wood. Aroma is vanilla, sweet cherries, malt, caramel, and brandy. Flavor is sweet, a hint of roastiness, Texture is velvety with fine carbonation. Some alcohol in the finish which is fairly long and sweet with a tinge of bitterness at the very end. Not a session beer although an excellent beer.

Pours the color of rootbeer with a tan head. The first flavor that jumps out at you is butterscotch which is followed by a little wood and some caramel. Overall a very tasty beer.

Pours a deep obsidian color with a slight head that quickly diminishes. Aroma is bourbon, malt, vanilla, and molasses. Taste is a good combination of vanilla, mollasses and bourbon. Finishes relatively smooth with an easy combination.

Bottle. Poured a darkish brownish color with a little white head. Aroma was caramel, malts and alcohol. Flavor was whisky, bread, and toffee. Very thick. Some bitter in the finish. Decent beer.

Pretty damn good. For as potent as this brew is, it is highly sessionable in the winter. Just ask me. 8 of these bad boys in one night.......hilarity ensued. Now, where can I get some more Kentucky Breakfast for a side by side comparo?

12 oz. bottle from Grape & Gourmet. Hazy, muddy reddish-brown pour with a very thin off-white head. Bourbon vanilla aroma, molasses, brown sugar, and booze. Creamy and rich vanilla flavor upfront and very sweet malt in the back of the throat. Moderate alcohol warming. The oak is present as well. This is really hardly a scotch ale given the oak bourbon barrel flavor that is so overpowering over anything that resembles a scotch ale. It is, however, a damn fine beer.
