BuckNaked (1195), Tempe, Arizona, USA Nov 29, 2007 12oz bottle courtesy of Pailhead: Pours to clear reddish-brown colored body that actually has the color of cola, with a small tan colored head that quickly fades. The aroma shows some plums, dark fruit, and some light bourbon notes along with some mild charred wood. Taste shows some bourbon alongside a nice sweetness that seems to come from the malt but shows some vinous ripe grape notes, plums, charred maple, and some earthy, roasted malt notes. The alcohol comes through along with some bitter fruity hops. Medium bodied, medium carbonation, I’m not always a fan of bourbon-barrel aged beers but the blend of flavors is nice in this one.
Marsiblursi (1432), Gö te la borrrrg, Sweden Oct 10, 2008 (Bottle, thanks to hopscotch) Pours beautiful deep red with some brownish hints and almost no head. The aroma is of sweet caramelly malt, buttery bourbon oak, citric/resiny hops and a sweet fruitiness. Undertones of smoke, earth, vanilla, mild spices, maple syrup and cucumber. The flavour is of buttery bourbon oak and sticky caramel/maple syrup up front with resiny orange-like hops. Undertones of dark fruits, earth and a light tannin bite. The mouthfeel is soft and sticky. Numbing hop and alcohol finish. Medium to heavily sweet and medium bitter. Medium to full bodied. Papsoe (10485), Frederiksberg, Denmark Sep 25, 2008 (Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of pepsican. Pours a slightly hazy reddish amber with tiny floating impurities and a small, creamy yellowish head. Distinct sweet bourbon aroma. Medium-bodied with sweet caramel and fruit, a little spicy with the bourbon notes really shining through leading to a somewhat boozy finish. A little low in carbonation. Very pleasant. 220808 BMan1113VR (919), Los Angeles (and Dallas, TX), California, USA Sep 22, 2008 Bottle thanks to zathrus13. Wow, this stuff is good! Pours with a largish, brown head with hazey red tinged, deep brown body. Aromas of bourbon, vanilla, dark fruits, peet, and some toffee. Flavors of toffee, fruit, vanilla, oak, raisins, bourbon, and a lot of alcohol. As a whiskey drinker, this stuff is great, and the bourbon character reminds me alot of Goose Island IS and Kentucky Breakfast (and maybe BB Angels Share). Syrupy mouthfeel with light bubbles, Great stuff to sip on! Indiana_Red (1470), Boise, Idaho, USA Sep 20, 2008 Semi clear mahogany with a thin prsistant tan head. Big delicious vanilla bourbon aroma. Light and dry palattte but a nice mild woodu flavor with plenty of vanilla and oak.
