What a waste, train wreck, waste of liver. Call it what you will but this one was nasty. Poured awful no head no lacing no nothing. Aroma was dark fruits and Alcohol. Flavor was caramel and alcohol. Just plain missed the boat on this beer. Back to the drawing board for founders for a Quad

Pours dark amber with a fully receding light tan head. Aroma of sweet esters: pears, plums, and raisin. Taste is sweet, fruity, spicy, and yeasty. Notes of apples, cinnamon, with a slight alcohol burn. Mouthfeel is sweet and sticky with lush carbonation. An ok quad, not impresive though.

In the bottle at the Max & Joe’s Tavern Michigan Beer tasting (11/21/6). Rich hazy red amber. Nice off-white head. Aroma of a banana enema. Maybe just a banana popsicle. The palate has heat! It burns, burns, burns. This is paint thinner with an attitude. Very medicinal similar to Robitussin cough syrup. Really nice! Has lots of candy sweetness. Cloves in both the aroma and taste.

Poured a medium amber with no head. The aroma was fruity, with some bananas and esters. The flavor was that with some caramel and spices mixed in. Good carbonation. The alcohol is pretty prominent. Probably not one I’d buy again, but it was OK.

12 oz bottle courtesy of wheninhell. Cloudy burnt orange with almost no head. Estery nose, touch of bubblegum and very ripe cantaloupe. Caramel, yeasty flavors, kind of a spicy/fruity/tangy thing. Alcohol is pronounced, especially in the finish, but it is not what I’d call hot. Bitter fruit notes in the finish. Meh.

I wasn’t impressed with this one - Founders is usually better. Slight aroma was fruity with banana and bubblegum. Flavor was similar, but cloyingly sweet with a chemical metallic flavor in there as well. Cannot compete with the Belgians.

Thanks jpm30. Good aroma of fresh yeast and fruit. A great tasting beer, though quad is an amazing style. Good soapy bubble white head on golden body. Tasty yeasty drinkable Belgian, unique taste, with spicy secondary. Good significant carbonation. Medium bannana mouthfeel. Funky. Satisfying.
