On tap at the brewpub. Pours a dark amber with a large tannish head. Fruit dominant aromas lead by banana and black plum with some clove spice notes in the background. Finishes warm.

Bottle. Sugar and alcohol. Those two qualities seem to dominate both the nose and flavor. Light, clear copper body with short off-white head that doesn’t stick around long. The aroma is filled with sweet, overripe banana and plum with a strong note of band-aid and lacquer. The flavor is overly sweet — caramel, plums with just a hint of clove and plastic. Peppery alcohol jumps in fairly early. Thick body with chewy texture and sticky feel. Overall, something is amiss here.

From a growler shared by Kevin. Hazy brown-amber body, thick tan head. Sweet tarts, overripe bananas, and bright apple in the aroma. Really fruity but smells good. The flavor brings in spicy alcohol over apple/grape fruitiness with a lingering caramelly sweetness. Smooth mouthfeel with nicely low carbonation. Good stuff!

Dusty rust. Thin creamy light tan head. Sweet fruity glue aroma. Flavor is sweet fruity fake quad. Overripe oversweet banana and spice with alcohol edge. Try harder. Sorry. I have a thing against a lot of American quads. It gets better after the first few drinks, but meh...

I love Founders beer. Now that that is out of the way-- woooh. Smells like over-ripe bananas. Tastes like over-ripe bananas with a warm alcohol finish. I’m glad I only bought a single.

Founders Bad Habit Quad... Had this on draught at the "Founders at Dilly Deli" night on 9/21/2006.... Dark amber color and no head. Aroma is sweet and fruity. Taste is much the same with some hints of alcohol and really not very complex. No hints of spiciness or other deep flavors. Mouthfeel is pretty think and syrupy at times. Over all it is a pretty good beer, but is lacking the complexities of a really great quad. 10 oz draught (9.8% alchohol), $4.00 from Dilly Deli.

12oz bottle labeled Bad Habit and listed at 9.8% alcohol instead of the 10.5% listed here. Poured into my trappist glass this poured ruby red with a short offwhite head that faded pretty quickly. Aromas of yeast, pepper spice, candi sugar, bannana, yeast, and light alcohol. Flavor starts out very sweet with caramel, candi sugar, light bannana, apple, plum, and yeast. On the finish there is noticable pepper spice and a lingering sweetness. Palate is thick and sticky but still feels pretty soft in the mouth.. Probably the one fault that I found was this is that it tended to be watery at times but other than that I think this seems underrated to me. Not a bad attempt at an American Quad.

Darl amber color. Smell of yeast, banannas, nuts, malt, caramel and overpowering alcohol. Tastes very sweet with honey, banannas and alcohol. This will warm you up in no time. Great beer for the winter.
