Commercial Description:
This beer will surprise you with a big hop flavor and a toasty sweet aroma. Pours black from the chocolate and de-bitterized black rye malts. This ale is medium bodied and is well flavored with hints of toffee, nutty undertones and a dry crisp finish.

Pours black with ruby edges and a thick light brown head. Roastiness, mocha and prominent piney hop aroma. Very nice - notes of chocolate, roastiness, grapefruit/citrus and pine. Ends with a little ash-like flavor. Very interesting - kind of like a porter/schwarzbier hybrid made with Pacific NW hops, neat. Medium creamy body with a very smooth texture and moderate carbonation. Great lacing and head retention. Excellent.

via trade with OhioDad - Pours a brown color with a big time light tan head. Nice lacing as the head settles. Very light roasted malt aroma. Has a typical porter type flavor. Light dark roasted malt. Leans toward the dry side. Medium body. Very nice. Thanks Scott.

Rye, rye , and more rye. Pours somewhat of a weak porter. Aroma is you guess it rye with a slight of malts. Taste rounds out with a a touch of bitter malts. I could see why most would enjoy it yet not my type, however did pick up on the dry hops.

Enjoyable - I’m not sure if it turned out the way they intended it, but it’s good. Fairly light despite the dark color, it’s similar to a stout but lighter, less roasted, and more mild overall. Some roasted flavors, yes, but other malt characteristics are present as well. Good.

No toasty sweet aroma, no debitterized black rye malts in fact much bitterized and no sweetness. Very Roasty though, very intense--a jsquire leftover.

This dark brown ale poured with a medium tan head. The flavor is of roasted chocolate malt, creamy and heavy, with a bitter finish.
