Commercial Description:
This beer will surprise you with a big hop flavor and a toasty sweet aroma. Pours black from the chocolate and de-bitterized black rye malts. This ale is medium bodied and is well flavored with hints of toffee, nutty undertones and a dry crisp finish.

Pours medium bodied black ruby with light tan head. Aroma of hops , roasted grains, and a hint of rye. Tastes citrus, good ammount of hops, roasted grains, and a nice rye flavor.Very well balanced with a nice bitter hop finish

Pours a black/ dark ruby color. Aroma of roasty chocolate nuts IMO. Flavor is much that of a porter. Chocolate roastiness. I cannot discern a rye flavor though. Medium body.

Poured black with very small head. Strong flavor, stronger than I expected. Tasted like a porter to me, but a very good one.

Poured black with a medium light tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, creamy chocolate, and a fair amount of hops. Roastey, more chocolate, and hoppy flavor with a bitter and tingly finish. Medium bodied.

Dark but light small head. Lots of flavors. Carmel and Toffee are strong but the hoppy crisp finish balances out the flavor and turns the brew from stout to ale like. Might have rye but not exactlly sure of a rye taste. Good in the fall. Not strong like a winter stout nor like a smooth summer ale.

Beautiful beer-nice fluffy head and great color. Reminds me a bit of New World Porter from Avery-I like hops in a dark beer. Doesn’t totally seal the deal, but a great beer nonetheless. Would like more body to go with all the lovely hoppiness.

Dark Dark pour from a 12 oz bottle sent by SuIIy (Thanks a bunch). Huge head at first, but dwindled before 1/4 the glass was empty. Still left decent lacing. Suprisingly sweet aroma. Citrus and apple. Flavors were a little more malty, some nuts, but mostly hops. Nice citrus flavor and a decent dry finish. Pretty good.

(bottle) You know, I wasn’t really expecting to like this. Most ryes are just too strange for me. But this one was actually pretty decent. There was nothing notable about it though, so I probably won’t bother to have it again.
