I enjoyed this. Tap at brewery. Poured dark brown/black with a dark tan head. It could have been a little more densely flavored. Not much aroma, a little chocolate malt maybe. Body was little. Lots of chocolate flavor and a little banana. A better than average dunkleweizen.

this kinda sucked. not at all like any dunkelweizen i’ve had before. tons of chocolate, it seemed way more like a stout or perhaps non-nitrogenated dry stout to me. basically no banana.

I was disappointed with this, and many of Founders offerings of late. The color was good, deep mahogoney brown, somewhat cloudy. The wheat profile was slight to non-existant. Very little complexity to the flavor. Don’t feel like you missed anything if you get to Founders and try something else.

Draft @ Founders: Slightly hazed dark brown color with a beige head. Sweet roasted malt with ash notes. Roasted malt flavor that was sweet with some fruity notes. Light to medium bodied.

On tap at Founders. Deep murky black-brown body, medium off-white head. Lightly toasty chocolatey aroma. Rather thin, light body with toast, chocolate, and a light bite on the tongue. A touch grassy but little wheat character on the whole. An underwhelming beer with very little flavor and complexity.

Draft at Founders. Dark brown pour with a small creamy off-white head that diminished quickly. Moderate toasted malt aroma. Medium body with a thin texture. Medium sweet toasted malt flavor with a light bitter finish of average duration. Drinkable but soft from Founders.

mediocre at best....a clearish black appearance with medium head...aroma and flavor are one of the same...some roasted malts, a touch of their harvest hops, and a bit of rye...watered down flavor....okay palate
