I dig it and its pretty under-rated if you ask me. AlKHall (161), West Hartford, Connecticut, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 6, 2006 On Tap @ Founders. Pours a dark dark brown with a minimal head. Aroma is wheaty and the initial flavor is malty. The primary flavor I picked up is roasted - burnt coffe with notes of chocolate and molasses. Some degree of hop bitterness. It wasn’t bad, but Founders has so much more that is better. goldtwins (4085), Nesconset, New York, USA

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 30, 2006 I enjoyed this. Tap at brewery. Poured dark brown/black with a dark tan head. It could have been a little more densely flavored. Not much aroma, a little chocolate malt maybe. Body was little. Lots of chocolate flavor and a little banana. A better than average dunkleweizen. Flavor was a bit chocolately and had some vegetables as well. Mouthfeel was a bit heavy. kp (8500), Woodstock, Georgia, USA

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Jul 14, 2006 On tap at the brewpub on 4/28/06: Nearly opaque dark brown pour has a thin-lacing, wispy tan head. Slightly tart dark caramel malty nose. Body starts tart and sweet with some toasty dark caramel maltiness and a touch of bready yeast. Decent balance, but the light tartness isn’t very true to style.
